Entre Puertos

Small and unassuming, but looks can be deceptive. A very warm welcome from the English speaking Chilean proprietor who provided guidance through the menu. We chose 2 starters, the tartar and fish. Fresh ingredients, well prepared packed in a massive amount of flavour, particularly in the tartar. The main course choice was the pulled pork. It included a freshly prepared guacamole and although very tasty, lacked a real punch to set it alight, until we were asked if we enjoyed spicy food. Out came a chilli oil dressing that really was outstanding. It added extra dimensions to the pork, taking it from a good dish to absolutely amazing. We finished off with churros with ice cream and a sauce. Mustn't forget the pisco sour (brandy sour) with a Chilean twist - chilli flakes around the rim. Excellent. The surroundings were simple and the ambience welcoming, leaving the flavour experience the star of the show. Make the effort to find it and you won't be disappointed.

We had an amazing dinner in Entre Puertos. First we had some Pisco Sours, with spicy smoky Merken on the rims, the empanadas of camaron queso were delicious, the pastry perfectly fried. But the stars of the show were the sandwiches. That great balance of sweetness and acidity to the meaty pulled pork and pulled beef, of the two sandwiches we tried. Next time we’ll try the completos and maybe even find room for dessert! It all made me nostalgic for a country I love and know well.

Yesterday we were able to experience a little piece of Chile in Lisbon - in a restaurant that not only impressed us with its cuisine, but above all with its warmth. As soon as we entered, we were greeted with such warmth and sincerity that we immediately felt welcome, almost like friends. The drinks and food were simply world class: full of flavour, lovingly prepared and with an authenticity that you don't find every day. But what made this evening truly unforgettable was the way the host treated us - with genuine joy at having us as guests. A place where you don't just eat, but where you feel at home. A real highlight in Lisbon that we can wholeheartedly recommend to everyone!
